The Team

Hello, I’m Kate….

I manage Shining Cliff Centre CIC, which looks after Shining Cliff Hostel and the Woodland Hut in Shining Cliff Woods. Caring for this place — and helping others connect with it — sits at the heart of what I do.

I’m a Level 3 Forest School Leader and a Forest Bathing Guide, with a varied background that includes nursing, working as a Field Studies tutor in Yorkshire and the Peak District, training as a secondary Geography teacher (PGCE), and supporting conservation volunteering.

These experiences shape the way I work in the woodland: combining care, curiosity, learning and respect for the natural world, and creating spaces where people can slow down, feel safe and reconnect.

Hello I’m Bonnie…

I’ve been working with children in school and community settings for over 15 years, supporting their wellbeing, confidence and emotional resilience.

I’m a trained Forest Bathing Guide and Level 3 Forest School practitioner, with additional training in story massage and mindfulness. I also hold a BSc (Hons) in Psychology with Philosophy, which underpins the way I thoughtfully support children’s emotional and mental wellbeing.

I enjoy helping children build confidence and resilience through a range of fun, creative and engaging approaches, both in woodland settings and beyond.

You’re welcome to get in touch to discuss bespoke wellbeing sessions in schools or community settings.

Hello, I’m Kyla….

I help to run Shining Cliff Hostel and have a long-standing connection with Shining Cliff Woods, where I’ve spent many years working, walking and being part of the woodland through different seasons.

I’m currently completing my Forest School training, due to finish in February 2026, and I support the delivery of Woodland Connections sessions alongside Bonnie & Kate.

My work is grounded in care for both people and place, and in creating welcoming, supportive woodland spaces where participants can feel comfortable, included and at ease.
