Our Policies

All Woodland Connections sessions are led by trained and appropriately qualified woodland practitioners, with appropriate insurance in place for all activities.

Sessions are led by Level 3 Forest School practitioners Bonnie or Kate, supported by Kyla, who helps to run Shining Cliff Hostel and has a long-standing connection with Shining Cliff Woods. Kyla is currently completing her Forest School training, due to finish in February 2026, and works within our risk assessments and safeguarding policy at all times.

All activities are fully risk assessed, and we are happy to share risk assessments on request. Bonnie, Kate and Kyla hold enhanced DBS checks and work within our safeguarding procedures. Bonnie and Kate hold up-to-date outdoor first aid qualifications, and sessions are always planned to ensure appropriate first aid cover is in place.

Kate is a registered Walk Leader with Walk Derbyshire, and both Kate and Bonnie are trained Forest Bathing Guides.
